Words & Phrases

  • How much for one bunch of grapes?

    • Do you eat the grape skin?

    • Is it a new (variety / type / kind) of grape?

  • The house needs to be tidied up.

    • The house is untidy.

    • My son is sloppy.

  • Sophie is starting to shed her kitten fur.

    • Do turtles shed their shell?

Neighbourhood

Section 6

  • “It’s not open often”; it’s sometimes closed and may have irregular hours or days of operation.

Section 7

  • “There aren’t any convenience stores.”

    • We often use “not any + plural verb” when describing what doesn’t exist in a neighbourhood

Homework

  • Section 6; underline all of the “there is / there are” sentences

  • Neighbourhood Reading; read the article and answer the comprehension questions
