  • At lunch yesterday we had the daily special.

    • The menu at the restaurant changes weekly.

  • Next week is the baseball draft, so some high school and university players are ready to be drafted.

    • Do you know what team he wants to be drafted to?

  • The game was a draw.

    • It was a tie game.

  • I’m responsible for (+ -ing)

  • It’s also my job to (infinitive)

  • You also need to be good at (+ -ing)

    • In this sentence this is the impersonal “you”, meaning “people / anyone”; not the personal “you”

Section 4

  • 1 I work as a (+ noun for the job)

    • This is also true for most situations, we prefer to use the noun of the job

    • He worked as a pharmacist.

    • She is a famous novelist.

    • My granddaughter wants to be a journalist.

Homework

  • Section 4; complete the 7 expressions for your job, a job you had or any job you can think of. Think of the correct nouns, verbs and adjectives you will need.
