Compare these two sentences

  • I’m going to Paris next spring. (= travelling to Paris, without any organized activities)

  • I'm going on a (guided) tour of Paris next spring. (= structured and organized visit, likely involving guided activities and a pre-planned itinerary)

Village / Town / City

  • It’s not common to use city, town or village after the name of a place

  • It’s more common to say “city of …  / town of …  / village of …”

  • “I went to see autumn leaves in Minowa, Nagano.” (NOT Minowa town)

  • “I went to see the autumn leaves in the town of Minowa, Nagano.”

  • “I am spending two weeks in the city of Toronto to study cooking.”

  • “We drove through the small village of Bixby on our way to the coast.”

Vocabulary

  • A talk; (noun) an informal lecture or speech

  • News anchor; (noun) often the main presenter and serves as a central figure in the newsroom and on news programs

  • Newscaster; (noun) a broader term that can for anyone involved in presenting news, not just those on television, especially for radio.
