Lesson Notes November 21, 2023 (Elementary)

  • He phoned a toll free number, the business was pretending to be Microsoft.

  • After a scam call I went to the bank to freeze my accounts and credit cards.

    • Every week I get several scam emails.

  • I’m going to make a calendar with photos of my family on vacation.

  • I planted some tulip bulbs in my garden this morning.

Vocabulary

  • PIN; Personal Identification Number

  • Phishing scam; (noun) fraudulent phone calls, emails etc to used to steal your personal information, credit card numbers etc

  • Toll free; a telephone number that is free to call

  • Chrysanthemum; (short forms) mums / chrysanths

    • I planted some mums in my garden.

    • My neighbour gave me a mum.

The Body

Section 4 - When we are describing what is happening in a video or a photograph, we often use the present continuous tense. It’s also possible to use past continuous, to talk about the past event.

  • 5 “What is the man and the dog doing?”
    They are running on the beach.”
