In this lesson we will be looking at various prepositions that come after certain words.
Section A
Of
Sue accused me of being selfish.
I disapproved of the family’s vacation destination.
A: What did he die (of / from)?
B: I heard it was a heart attack.The meal was huge! It consisted of seven courses.
For
I didn’t have enough money to pay for the meal.
I forgot to thank my neighbours for the lovely gift.
I apologized to my neighbours for my bad manners.
Everybody blamed me for the accident.

A: What time will you be home?
B: I am not sure. It depends on the traffic.Michael’s salary is very low. It isn’t enough to live on.
The meal was delicious. I complimented Mark on his cooking skills.

Pay (a bill / a fine / a fee / tax / rent / a sum of money etc); we do not use a preposition
Believe
Believe something; believe it is true
They story can’t be true. I don’t believe it.
Believe somebody; believe they are telling the truth
I believe him when he said he got lost.
