  • The musician played 10 (songs / pieces of music). (NOT 10 musics)

    • She played Enka as an encore.

  • My neighbour’s niece is a cellist.

  • Two of our performances are free, you don’t need a ticket.

    • One event you will need a ticket.

  • Our graduation trip had so many students that the JR Shinkansen couldn’t accommodate all of us.

    • One hotel wasn’t large enough to accommodate the class trip.

  • Coriander is sometimes called “cilantro” (= fresh coriander)

  • The seed is also called “coriander” (= ground coriander, coriander seed)

  • Herbs: basil, coriander, mint, oregano, parsley, rosemary

  • Spices: curry, paprika, pepper, turmeric

  • Condiment; mustard, ketchup, pickles, wasabi etc

  • I have a pot of (fresh) rosemary.

    • I put the rosemary in water and it grew roots.

  • Chinese Five Spice is a spice made from five different spices.

  • I have a spicy Chinese paste in my kitchen.
