  • How was your weekend?

    • When someone asks about “your weekend," they want to know about what you did on any days you had off from work or other things you had to do, not just Saturday and Sunday.

  • I hosted a wine party, there were 10 people including me.

    • (Dry / Fresh) pasta

  • Gecko; a type of lizard

    • The bottle is decorated with (a gecko / geckos).

Crazy Hotels: There is / There are

  • Singular nouns; there is / there isn’t

  • Plural nouns; there are / there aren’t

  • Positive sentences; some

  • Negative sentences & questions; any

  • Is there a bookshelf in your living room?

  • How many books are there (on your bookshelf)?

    • There are (a few / some / a lot of) books on my bookshelf.

  • Is there a wardrobe in your house?

    • Yes, there are some wardrobes in my house.

  • How many mirrors are in your house?

    • There are some mirrors in my house.

  • How many records do you have in your house?

    • There are no records in my house.

  • How many bottles of wine are there in your house?

    • There are about 100 bottles.

  • How many wine fridges are there in your house?

    • There are two.
