Lesson Notes March 21, 2023 (Elementary)

  • America’s baseball team is (strong / powerful).

  • Camellia flowers come in several colours and many shapes.

  • Mulberry fruits look like black berry fruits.

    • My daughter didn’t care for the tree, so last year there were a bit of fruits.

  • Envy (verb) & Envious (noun)

    • (verb) I envy you drinking wine a lot.

    • (noun) I am envious of you drinking wine a lot.

  • A: Will it rain today?
    B: It looks like rain, may it’s just cloudy.

Making Small Talk

  • A: What are the beaches like in your hometown?
    B: They are beautiful and clean.

  • A: What are the hospitals in your hometown like?
    B: There are many, the top hospital is so big and famous, so we have peace of mind.

  • My hometown’s parks are rich in nature.

  • The streets are historical and famous. There were famous samurai in my hometown.

    • Some streets are narrow cobblestone street.

  • What are cafes in Tokyo like? (= general)
    What are the cafes in (Shinyurigaoka / OPA) like? (= specific with the)
