Compare Tall and High

  • "Tall" is often used when for the height of living things such as trees, people, or animals

    • The tree is 6 metres tall.

    • The giraffe is the tallest animal in the world.

    • This flower does not grow tall.

    • The palm trees on the beach are tall and sway gently in the breeze.

  • “High” is often used to describe the vertical distance from a surface to the top of an object

    • The building is 150 metres high.

    • The building has a high ceiling.

    • The kite soared high in the sky.

    • How high are we hiking up this mountain?
