  • Singapore and Malaysia are neighbours.

    • The country has a short history, it’s been an independent country since 1965. (NOT a shallow history)

  • What souvenirs did you buy for (yourself / your family / your friends etc)?

  • My senses were (attacked / assaulted / overwhelmed) by all the new experiences.

  • There is a waterfall inside the airport, I was so amazed!

  • The hotel didn’t have a traditional check-in counter, but luckily, they did give me a keycard.

  • How were the prices in (Japan / Canada / Singapore etc)? (= prices of goods, food etc)

  • I went to the observation deck to get a beautiful view of the city at sunset.

  • There is an observatory in the city, you can go there an look at the stars.

  • There are various food courts in the stations around the city.

    • Let’s meet at the food court at the local mall for lunch on Sunday.

  • Do you have any plans to travel?

    • Do you have any travel plans?

    • I don’t have any plans, but I’ll probably go somewhere.

  • I think most of the people I saw were not in a tour group.

    • We saw some women travelling (alone / on their own).
