My son-in-law and my husband went to end of year parties. (= they each went to a end of year party)
I helped my daughter bathe her daughter.
I had to work almost every day this week. (NOT all day this week)
We sell new (year’s) calendars to our customers.
We sell two types of calendars, a desk calendar and a wall calendar.
Most race horses retire after a few years. (NOT most horses of racing)
How crowded was Meiji shrine on January 2nd?
Was Meiji shrine crowded?
I waited about thirty minutes in line.
Meiji shrine has several large donation boxes for New Year’s.

Staff to customer; these are used to sound friendly, you can give short answers.
How are you?
How are you doing today?
Windy today, isn’t it? (Commenting on weather)
Customer to staff
What comes on the burger? (for sandwiches, hamburgers etc)
If you don’t want something on a sandwich, burger etc you can say
No pickles.
No mustard.
Hold the pickles.
Hold the mustard.
Homework: Review lesson, think of a time you had to tip at a restaurant, or think of a time you’ve seen it on TV or in a movie
