    • The pollen is high today, remember to shake (out) your laundry.

  • Beat; removing dirt, dust, and debris from the carpet fibres by hitting or tapping the carpet with a carpet beater or a similar tool

    • This carpet is looking dirty, can you take it out and beat it?

    • After vacuuming the carpet, he took it outside and beat it with a carpet beater to remove any remaining dirt and debris.

  • Endangered; (of a species, especially animals or plants) seriously at risk of extinction

  • Extinct; (of a species, especially animals or plants) having no living members; no longer in existence

    • Many animals are at risk of being extinct because people destroy the animal’s habitat.

    • Many endangered animals are in conversation projects to protect and breed them.

  • Breed; (verb - bred / bred) (of animals) mate and then produce offspring

    • The crested ibis is being bred and released in Japan.

  • Pragmatic; a practical and realistic approach to problem-solving and decision-making

  • Sensationalism; when media or news outlets use dramatic or emotional stories or headlines to get people's attention and increase their audience

  • Anchor; (for news) a person who presents and coordinates a live television or radio programme
