  • I could ski when I was younger, but I had a accident and injured my leg. Now I (can’t / unable) to ski.

  • I wanted to learn piano when I was younger, but my parents said no, so I couldn’t learn it.

  • A: It’s a little windy today.
    B: Yes, the wind is gusting at time. (= a sudden strong rush of wind)

  • The Nomura in Shinyurigaoka (is closing / will be closed) in a few weeks.

    • A bank near my house closed several weeks ago.

  • A sweets shop near my house (is going to be demolished / will be demolished).

  • Devout; deep religious feeling or commitment, or totally committed to a cause or belief

    • In the TV show he’s a devout Roman Catholic.

    • My father is a devout Montreal Canadien fan.

    • Her daughter is a devout environmentalist.

  • Run ragged; to use something or someone too much until they become very tired or damaged

    • My car was run ragged by three family members using it all the time.

    • During the holidays I felt run ragged between Christmas parties and many get togethers.

  • My car broke down while I was driving back home.

  • This area is very hilly. (NOT up and down hills)
