Lesson Notes April 25, 2023 (TUESDAY ZOOM)

  • It’s dark, cloudy and cold today, are you doing ok?

  • A: The space behind you has changed. Are you in your new house?
    B: Yes, but I haven’t moved in yet.

  • They are a month (delayed / behind schedule).

  • They changed the curtains.

    • The curtain needs a dark lining to stop the sun.

    • In the mornings, my new curtains glow orange.

  • Threadbare; (of cloth, clothing, or soft furnishings) becoming thin and tattered with age

    • He wore a threadbare sweater that had seen better days.

    • The old couch was threadbare in some places from years of use.

    • This towel is becoming threadbare, I think we should replace it.

  • Peppercorn; the dried berry of a climbing vine, used as a spice or ground to make pepper

  • My teacher teaches us how to paint scenery. I like to paint flowers, but he told me I should learn to paint other subjects.

  • How did you get interested in (painting / photography / bonsai / tea ceremony / etc)?

  • My family caught covid and isolated themselves from me. There isolation period ended at the end of the week.
