Losing Objects

Plural nouns; Some things come in pairs – we use two of them, one for each side of our body
“I bought new headphones.
“These shoes are comfortable.”
“My socks are blue.”
“He is wearing warm gloves.”
Sometimes, we only have one of a pair – maybe we lost the other one. Then, we can use the singular form to talk about just one item.

“Only one headphone works.”
“I can’t find my other shoe!”
“He only has one shoe on.”
“Where is my other sock?”
“I found one sock under the bed.”
