Topic: Asking for Directions

Lesson Notes September 26, 2023 (Elementary)

  • I took my nephew to the dentist, the dentist said he had cavities.

  • I found (a funny / an interesting) thing in my garden.

  • The tea has no taste.

    • The tea is tasteless.

  • When describing the effects of something on your body, we can say

    • It’s good for your (skin / hair / eyes etc)

    • It’s bad for your (teeth / breath / ears etc)

  • The temple takes care of the graves. They weed the grave as well.

  • I’m worried that my suitcase will be bulky and heavy.

    • My suitcase is just big enough to bring into the cabin.

    • It’s a carry-on-suitcase.

Asking for Directions

Remember you’ll always want to give simple, easy to remember directions.

  • Go straight and turn left at the traffic lights. (NOT turn to the left)

  • The post office is (after / next to) the cinema.

  • Go right and it’s on the left.

Vocabulary

  • Cavity; (noun; plural: cavities) a decayed part of a tooth

  • Pod; (noun) the case or covering of most beans (legumes)

  • Bulky; (adj) large and difficult to move because of size, weight, shape etc
