Words & Phrases

  • I have a very slight fever, the only symptom I have is dizziness.

  • My family worried that I might have shingles, but I don’t have those symptoms besides some itchiness. (= Herpes zoster, the same virus as chickenpox)

  • The TV series Shogun is a historical fiction, with some characters are loosely based on actual historical figures.

  • Enclosure; a barrier that surrounds an area, especially for a specific purpose

    • A dog enclosure

    • Zoo enclosures

  • If something or someone is referred to as “shady” it means it’s of doubtful honesty or legality
