  • Last night the moon was so large and looked a little bluish. (We use “-ish” on colours to mean “somewhat”, it’s informal)

    • Bluish = somewhat blue tint

    • Reddish-orange; mainly orange with somewhat red tint

  • There was a super blue moon on August 31, 2023

    • “Super moon” is a larger and brighter full moon

    • “Blue moon” is a second full moon in a calendar month

  • Are you prepared for natural disasters?

    • Is your house equipped with emergency supplies?

    • Evacuation Centre; a temporary safe place where people can go during emergencies or disasters, such as floods, fires, or earthquakes, to protect themselves from harm.

  • I wanted to a concert ticket, but I had trouble with my credit card. I was trying to use an expired credit card.

    • I forgot to update my credit card’s expiration date on the website.

    • Many websites securely (store / save) your credit card information.

  • Spam email is unsolicited and often harmful emails or messages sent to a large number of recipients without their consent

  • Junk email refers to unwanted but typically not harmful emails or messages, including newsletters and promotional emails, that may have been wanted at some point but are no longer desired.
