Words & Phrases

  • My mother belonged to an ink painting circle.

    • Also called “India-ink painting

  • What kind of things did she paint? (= scenes, landscapes, objects, animals, plants etc)

  • The exhibition was only a short time. It’s finished already.

    • The exhibition is sponsored by NHK. There is also a TV program about it.

  • I highly recommend this movie, it was very entertaining. (NOT entertainment)

  • I don’t have a subscription to Disney+, so I can’t watch Shogun.

  • I’ll be busy with some hula events two weeks before my son’s wedding.

  • Fiancée; a woman who is engaged to be married

  • Fiancé; a man who is engaged to be married
