  • I’m still feeling the affects of the anaesthesia from the procedure I had yesterday.

  • I was feeling groggy after the procedure. (= dazed and weakened, especially from lack of sleep)

  • I was under anaesthesia for a short time while the doctor did the procedure.

  • I have to go back to the doctor next week for the results. Until then my stomach will be in knots.

  • My friend had a biopsy done. (= a removal of fluids or tissue to check if a patient is ill)

    • He had a needle biopsy.

  • My friend sent me a picture of a weed she found in her garden.

    • We didn’t know the name, so I looked it up. Eventually, I found out what it was.

  • When the King was giving a speech, someone shouted and interrupted him.
