Vocabulary

  • Portable; (adj) able to be easily carried or moved

  • Bedridden; (adj) confined to bed by sickness or old age

  • There are different “senior housing” options to provide comfortable, safe and supportive environments for seniors

    • Senior House; a general term

    • Independent Living; usually a community offering amenities, social activities and services

    • Assisted Living; who need assistance with daily activities (bathing, dressing, medication, meals etc)

    • Nursing Home; usually 24/7 medical care

    • Retirement Communities; various forms of independent living, assistant living and nursing care

    • Group Home; seniors living with other seniors who share household chores and expenses
