Words & Phrases

  • Symptoms may include red, itchy and inflamed skin.

    • I damaged my knee, so if I play too much tennis it might become inflamed.

  • I put some ointment and a bandage on my knee. (= noun)

    • I bandaged my knee with some ointment. (= verb)

  • She told me before that she would be going home today, but I haven’t heard from her yet.

  • Many people turn to social media and video-sharing platforms to get their information.

    • Traditional news outlets can be just as biased as social media.

  • He was a commentator for one day.

Appropriate Language

  • Inflamed; (adj) part of your body becomes red or swollen, usually because of an infection, injury, or illness

  • Bandage

    • (Noun) a long strip of cloth that is wrapped around a wound to protect or support it

    • (Verb) to tie a bandage around a wound or part of someone’s body
