Lesson Notes May 28, 2024 (Elementary)

  • I wrote a message and thought I sent it. But I completely forgot to do it.

  • You’re being pulled in many directions. (= you have a lot of conflicting things to do)

  • The wedding will take place in November, and after that we will have a wedding reception.

  • I am looking forward to seeing my friend.

    • We were looking forward to the trip, but it got cancelled.

  • I cleaned my room. (= cleaned my bedroom)

    • I helped clean his place. (= clean his apartment / house etc)

Vocabulary

  • Wedding; a marriage ceremony, and other events

    • Wedding reception; a social event, especially a meal, to celebrate a marriage

  • To be looking forward to (something); await something with strong desire

Describing Friends

  • Yuko has been my best friend since the first year of university.

  • I was shocked to learn that my colleague quit their job.

  • My son has good camping buddies.

Section 2

  • I see four friends giving thumbs up.

Homework

Describing a Friend: Section 3, try to add at least two new words to each category.
