Lesson Notes May 21, 2024 (Elementary)

  • In the near future your daughter might move back with her family.

    • They might move back in September, October or November.

  • I saw a musical revue. I enjoyed seeing it. (NOT I was fun seeing it)

    • I rode on a Ferris wheel. It was fun. (NOT I was fun)

  • The park is lit up at night. (NOT light up)

  • 飲み放題 means “all-you-can-drink”

    • There was an all-you-can-drink wine bar.

    • In my free time, I enjoyed unlimited wine.

  • I went there for my elementary school graduation trip.

  • It’s difficult to run a restaurant.

    • Have you ever run a PTA group?

    • This is a family-run hotel.

  • Last weekend, there was a wine-crawl in Hachioji. There were 27 shops that served wine and snacks.

    • Many customers completed the crawl.

    • I want to try it next year. We should mark it on our calendars.

  • We went to the Gotemba Outlets. We left at 6:15 in the morning and got back home at 10 at night.

    • There were not a lot of people at the outlet.

    • Many izakayas in Japan offer an all-you-can-drink option for a set period, usually two hours.

    • For her birthday, Sarah booked a table at a restaurant that had an all-you-can-drink deal, so everyone could enjoy unlimited cocktails.

    • The all-you-can-drink package at the bar includes a variety of beers, wines, and spirits.

    • During our trip to Tokyo, we went to a place with an all-you-can-drink menu and tried several different types of sake.

    • The all-you-can-drink special was a great way to sample a range of beverages without worrying about the cost.
