Lesson Notes March 7, 2023 (Vocabulary Building)

  • When the flower is in bloom it (droops / hangs down).

  • Recently, I see a lot of people walking and looking at their smartphone.

  • Compare these sentences

    • She celebrated her 100th birthday.

    • She (turned / became) 100 years old.

    • She celebrated turning 100 years old.

  • She walks with (a walker / a cane / crutches / a helper etc) (= using a device or person)

    • She walks by her self. (= no assistance from people or device)

Booking a Holiday

  • I book trips at the travel agency.

  • Itinerary ( ahy-tin-uh-rer-ee )

  • RV = Recreational Vehicle; a motorized caravan

    • Winnebago; a popular brand of RV, which often is used when speaking instead of RV
