  • (The exhibition / It) had pictures and clothing.

  • The dresses were (almost all / mostly) pink. (NOT almost pink)

  • Compare these two structures

    • Country adjective + noun

      • German wine

      • Canadian books

      • Japanese tuna

    • Noun + from + Country noun

      • Wine from Germany

      • Books from Canada

      • Tuna from Japan

  • I want my backache to recover, so I rested at home this past week.

  • A: How long is your teacher’s hair?
    B: She has very long hair. (NOT she is long hair)

S: What was the conference like?

D: It was very interesting.

S: Did you like the speakers?

D: Yes, they were very good. And their presentations were very helpful.

S: What was the food like?

D: It was delicious.

S: What was the weather like?

D: It was raining all day?

S: Did you like Amsterdam?

D: Yes, I did. (Amsterdam / It) is a beautiful place.

Homework: Practice Section 3, and pay attention to the words in bold and in italics. We will use this dialogue to help us make conversations next week.
