Words & Phrases

  • I am feeling sluggish and my eyes are puffy. They are sometimes itchy, so I use eyedrops.

  • I feel the (yellow dust / asian dust) has arrived.

  • Who dresses them in kimono?

    • Their grandma dressed them in an easy-to-wear kimono.

  • She reserved the train seats and hotel.

    • She made a reservation for the train and hotel.

  • My friend and I made great memories on this trip.

    • My friend and I created wonderful memories on this trip.

Weekends

Section 6

  • We use on for days of the week.

  • We use in for the morning, the afternoon, the evening.

  • We say at the weekend (UK) and on the weekend (North America)

Three-Sentence Weekend Stories

  • We don’t usually use a preposition with “Last Saturday.”

  • The teacher should pay attention to the students who can’t step well.

  • She looks like my daughter. (Focuses on appearance, or age differences)

    • She feels like a daughter to me. (Focuses on emotion and relationship)
