Compare between and in the middle of

  • Placement of the objects:

    • Between usually describes a position where the objects are on opposite sides of each other

    • In the middle of describes a position where the objects are surrounded by others.

      • My friend lives between Kyodo station and Chitose-Funabashi station.

      • There was a cat standing in the middle of the road.

  • I am looking forward to hearing about your (day / week). (NOT hearing about your stories)

    • I look forward to hear about your trip when you get back.

  • I got (an email / a text message) from someone trying to sending me money. (NOT I got mail)

  • Don’t click on any links in suspicious (emails / messages), you should delete them right away.

  • Thai; (adjective) relating to Thailand, its people, or their language

    • I want to visit Thailand and eat Thai food.

    • One of my friends is learning how to speak Thai.

    • There are many Thai World Heritage sites you can visit.
