    • The contractor has hired a woodworker, plumber, electrician and some other workers to build the house.

  • I had a fever, but the next day my fever was down. (NOT went down)

    • On Monday at the clinic I had a test for influenza and covid. (= someone tested me, probably a healthcare professional)

    • On Friday, I tested myself for covid.

  • Blue Impulse will fly over our area tomorrow.

    • I heard about this event from my friend and the city.

  • When you climbed Mt Fuji, did you stay at a mountain hut? (NOT mountain inn)

Short Conversations

A: How were your symptoms?
B: They were not so heavy. (NOT I was not so heavy)

A: Where should I go, if I want to see the fly over?
B: You should go to the Tama River. (= first conditional)
C: That’s a good idea. I’m busy tomorrow, but I would go to the Tama River if I wanted to see it. (= second conditional)
