  • The park was (decorated / covered) with LED lights.

    • There was a tunnel covered in LED lights.

    • The tulips were illuminated with lights.

  • A: I went to Meiji shrine.
    B: Me too, I also went there.
    C: Did you go together?
    A: No, I didn’t see her there.

  • Why did you (choose / pick / go) that shrine for New Year’s?

    • There were less people.

  • My shoe caught on the curb, and I slipped and fell.

    • A couple of days later, I feel I hurt my ribs.

  • My friend has an accident (at / near) the end of the (year / month).

    • She landed on her hand, and broke a bone.

    • Her arm is in a sling.

  • My dog is 15 years old, she can’t hear well.

General & Specific

When you see or are shown a photo

  • A: This is my sister’s toy poodle.
    B: It’s cute! (= specific)

When talking about an unknown, unseen

  • A: My friend has a dog.
    B: (Dogs / They) are cute. (= in general) (NOT it’s cute

Vocabulary

  • Fortune (slip); (noun) a slip of paper with a prediction on it

  • Charm; (noun) a small ornament, neckless, bracelet, pin, or object that has (magic / lucky) power

  • You and your partner will make plans to have lunch.

  • In section 5, choose five activities and add them to your diary. 

  • Listen again to Section 2. You and your partner will have a similar conversation
