Grammar

Using AT and IN

  • We use “at” to indicate a location or event happening at a specific place, like a hotel, but we wouldn’t use “in” unless the concert was inside a particular room or area of the hotel (e.g., in a ballroom).

So, the general rule is:

    • “At the hotel” for the hotel as a location.

    • “In the hotel” when talking about being inside the building itself.
