How is your cat? (We use possessive with nouns)
The weather was comfortable. I felt like I could wear short-sleeves during the day.
It looks like a botanical garden on the island. (NOT in the island; we use “on” for islands)
Have you been to this island?
Yes, I’ve been there. It was ten years ago. (Present perfect; to talk about past experience)
Yes, I was there ten years ago. (Past tense)
After this, I will go to a new hair salon. (NOT this after)
I am going to a new salon. But it’s the same stylist as always. He always cuts my hair.
His favourite performance was with a koto. (NOT his favourite stage)
Vocabulary
Meats
Tender; easy to cut or chew; not tough
Tough; hard to cut or chew; not tender
Firm; (about texture) holds its shape well and is less likely to break apart easily
Examples; tofu, cheese, pasta (al dente), pudding etc
Rain gutter; a channel on edge of roof that collects rainwater

It could be “study”. I can see a textbook and a computer, and a group talking.
