  • Earlier this year, he had ligament surgery on his elbow.

    • While I was jogging I injured a ligament in my foot.

    • Ligaments get less flexible as you age.

  • Who are you flying with? (= what airline are you using)

    • Who do you bank with? (= what bank do you use)

  • I’m watching an anime in Japanese with English subtitles. The Japanese is too quick for me to understand.

    • Subtitles are convenient, even when watching TV in your native language.

    • Does this TV show have subtitles in (Japanese / English / Chinese)?

  • What kind of pillow do you use?

    • I use a (soba / cotton / sponge / memory foam / gel / etc) pillow.

    • We use pillows from a famous brand.

  • I heard somewhere that pets outnumber children in Japan.

  • Have you seen pets in strollers before?

    • I’ve seen a big bulldog in a stroller. I think it’s because he’s old.

  • Are there any stray cats in your neighbourhood?
