Lesson Notes April 23, 2024 (TUESDAY ZOOM)

  • I had my hair dyed.

    • I had my hair coloured.

  • My camera isn’t working for some reason today. (= an unknown reason)

  • I’m going to go see rakugo.

    • He’s a very good storyteller.

  • The attendees at the event hosted by the Emperor and Empress had to wear formal attire.

    • The event began with the national anthem.

  • The ministry selects several attendees to attend the garden party.

  • Kimono are hard to put on. (NOT hard to wear)

    • Please wear a rain coat, it’s going to rain later today.

    • Are you wearing sunscreen?

  • The attendees at the wedding are often given a small party favour to take home.

    • Each of the kids at the birthday party was given small favours when they left.

  • A lot of famous athletes, special guests and dignitaries appear at the party.

  • At the Olympics most people jump on the bandwagon when their country is winning.
