  • They need to know if you have food allergies.

    • They need to know if you are allergic to any foods.

  • When we were bumped we got a phone call from the temple.

    • Did you get a call that time? (NOT did you get a phone)

  • Relative (noun); a more general and inclusive term that can cover various family members. It can be used when you want to refer to a broader familial connection without specifying the exact relationship.

  • Babysit (verb) babysits, babysitting, babysat (past & past participle); look after a child or children while the parents are out

  • Babysitter (noun); a person who looks after a child or children while the parents are out

  • Lament (verb); express regret or disappointment about something

    • Tourists lament the lack of good restaurants in town.

  • We should respect their private lives.

  • Infotainment; (a combination of information and entertainment) a blend of news, celebrity gossip, and entertainment elements to attract a broader audience.

    • I enjoy watching infotainment shows on TV that combine information and entertainment, like travel programs or cooking shows.

    • The museum had an infotainment exhibit that used interactive displays and games to teach visitors about science and history.

    • The radio station plays a mix of music and infotainment segments, including celebrity news and interesting facts.

    • The website provides infotainment articles that cover a wide range of topics, from health and wellness to technology and culture.

    • The teacher used infotainment videos in class to make learning more engaging and fun.

  • In a bank, there are several types of staff members who perform different roles and responsibilities, here a few examples

    • Bank Teller: responsible for assisting customers with routine transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, and check cashing.

    • Customer Service Representative: handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide information about the bank's products and services.

    • Loan Officer: evaluate loan applications, assess creditworthiness. They work with customers to understand their financial needs and recommend suitable loan options.

    • Personal Banker: They provide personalized banking services, including account management, financial planning, and investment advice.

    • Branch Manager: oversees the operations of a bank branch. They are responsible for managing staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, meeting sales targets, and maintaining regulatory compliance.

  • Stubborn ( stuhb-ern )

  • Joke (verb) jokes, joking, joked (past & past participle); make jokes; talk humorously

    • She jokes a lot when she tells a story.

  • Bright (adjective)

    • Intelligent and quick-witted; She had a bright idea that solved the problem.

    • Cheerful and lively; The child's eyes lit up with a bright smile.
