Topic: Character & Feelings

Lesson Notes January 9, 2023 (Vocabulary Building)

  • To call a cat many people say “here kitty kitty kitty”

    • She eats like a bird.

  • Have you ever had a (cat / dog / pet)?

    • When I was younger, most cats were outdoors.

    • I’ve never had a cat. I’ve almost always had dogs.

  • It was a slow (side to side / swaying) motion for two minutes or so.

Vocabulary

  • Eat like a bird; (phrase) consumes food in small quantities

Character & Feelings

Section 1

  • Qualities; positive traits

  • Flaws; negative traits

  • Neutral; can be considered positive or negative depending on the context

Homework

  • Think about your friends, family members, famous person, a character from a book, and make sentences about their qualities and their flaws. Try to use adverbs of frequency (usually, sometimes, often, usually etc)
