  • Outside today, my nose had been running.

  • Last weekend when I left for work it was sleeting.

    • … there was sleet.

    • At first there was no snow, just hail.

  • I went to a comedy show the other day, the performance was so funny. (NOT the stage was so funny)

  • The game was (delayed / suspended) for an hour because of thunder and heavy rain.

  • Who (organized / planned) the get-together?

    • I planned it about a month before.

Vocabulary

  • Sleet; (noun / verb) mixture of rain and snow

  • Hail; (noun / verb) pellets of frozen rain

  • Get-together; (noun) an informal gathering

  • Outgoing; friendly and socially confident

    • Shy; nervous or timid around other people

  • Sociable; friendly, engage with other people
