  • Japanese newspapers were running articles on catnommics because it was National Cat Day on the twenty-second.

  • Your video has frozen, is your internet ok? (NOT freezed)

    • Your internet is cutting off your voice.

  • Most children are able to adjust to life in a foreign country.

    • They attended a local school and learned the local language.

  • Did you live continuously overseas?

  • After graduation, did they get jobs at companies in Japan?

  • That survey sounds like a popularity contest, not real journalism.

Vocabulary

  • Catnomics; (a coined word “cat”+ “economics”) the cost of keeping the pets and the sale of feline-related goods

  • Shiver; (verb) shake slightly and uncontrollably; because of being cold, frightened, or excited

  • Popularity contest; the most popular or well-liked person in a group, often based on things like appearance, personality, or social status.
