  • A: When did you get your new glasses?
    B: I got them in August, nearly four months ago to the date.

  • Did you get an eye test at the glasses shop or the eye doctor?

  • Do you take any medicines?

    • Does your doctor prescribe any medicines to you?

  • I bought a 6-pack of beer, and when I got home, I discovered that one of the cans was leaking. I contacted the store, and they came to my house to exchange it for me.

  • Some aluminum cans are very flimsy.

    • It’s too cold today to be wearing a flimsy shirt.

  • The other day, I injured my leg, and the doctor said it was cracked. As a result, I had a plaster cast put on. (= The doctor put a plaster cast on me)

  • I’m not in the mood to do cleaning for this New Year’s.

  • I fell down some stairs while walking and looking at my phone.

  • The former Maeda family main residence was built by Toshinari, the former lord of the Kaga domain and the 16th head of the Maeda family, as his personal residence.
