Lesson Notes April 30, 2024 (Vocabulary Building)

  • (Getto / Shell ginger) tea tastes a little like camomile, but a little bitter.

  • The corner desk I was using was too big, so I switched back to my old small desk.

    • She switched back to her first outfit because the fancy clothes were too uncomfortable for the casual party.

  • Lucas and I (rearranged / redecorated) our offices yesterday. (NOT renovate)

  • In my garden, I’ve hung an orchid in a tree.

  • Everything in my garden is blooming, they are so energetic.

  • Has it been almost one month since the renovations started?

  • She was moved to a long-term hospital.

  • We all took turns to keep her occupied at the kid’s play land.

    • What kind of play equipment does this place have?

    • The local outdoor park has brand new playground equipment.

  • The same play land can be found (at / near) Yomiuriland Amusement Park. (= located nearby, but not inside the park)

  • Write your name down on the paper. (= a specific piece of paper, you know which one)

  • Write your name down on a piece of paper. (= any piece of paper will do)

Vocabulary

  • Switch back; to change or return to something that you had before

  • Long-term hospital; a hospital where patients can stay for a long period or indefinitely
