  • What TV do you like to watch?

    • I like to watch a British crime show.

  • You can climb partway up the pyramid.

  • I watched whales in Okinawa.

    • I went whale watching in Okinawa.

    • I missed seeing the whale jump out of the water.

    • Whales can be identified by their markings.

  • The beach was whitish-brown with a lot of broken coral. (= mainly brown with some white)

  • We flew to Rome and then rented a car. (NOT rent-a-car)

  • A lot of people park their cars on narrow roads, it makes passing difficult.

  • Sophie had to wear a onesie to stop kicking her surgical scar.

  • Sado island is about the size of Tokyo’s 23 wards.

Vocabulary

  • Pharaoh; title of ancient Egyptian king

  • Markings; a pattern, coloured lines, shapes

  • Dairy; products made from milk, like cheese, yogurt etc
