  • Is your (eyesight / vision ) good?

    • Yes, but I need to wear reading glasses.

    • I have to wear glasses when I drive.

  • Does anyone else have eye floaters?

    • Floaters are harmless and just a normal part of aging.

  • I needed cataract surgery in my early fifties.

    • My vision was a little foggy.

    • My eye was looking milky.

  • Frosted glass has a smooth, cloudy or milky appearance.

  • Decorative glass can include patterns, textures, stained colours, or artistic designs.

  • My doctor said I’m at risk for cancers, so I need to be screened yearly.

  • I’m going to have an operation at the end of the year. (NOT take a surgery)

    • We say “have surgery” because “surgery” is something done to us, not something we choose or take like a class or a bus.

    • Use “have” with medical things that happen to you:

      • have an operation

      • have a baby

      • have a check-up

      • have a cold

    • Use “take” with things you choose or do:

      • take a pill

      • take a class

      • take a break

      • take a taxi

  • If you have astigmatism, you’re eye might be misshapen.

  • I saw a poster at the doctor’s saying you can get a subsidized shingles vaccination.
