Topic: Crazy Hotels

Lesson Notes April 18, 2023 (Elementary)

  • My operation started at noon.
    The operation started at noon.
    (NOT I started the operation at noon)

  • Numb ( nuhm ) (the “b” is silent)

    • Verb; numb, numbs, numbed, numbing

    • Adjective; number, numbest

  • I had my wisdom teeth (removed / extracted).

  • Anaesthesia

    • General anaesthesia; full body is asleep

    • Local anaesthesia; an area is numbed

  • Don’t confuse these two sentences

    • I took out my wisdom tooth. (= I did the action)

    • I had my wisdom tooth taken out. (= A dentist or oral surgeon did the action)

  • Thanks to the oral surgeon I have no more pain.

  • I was in my twenties when I had my wisdom teeth removed.

    • The area wouldn’t stop bleeding. Eventually the dentist was able to stop the bleeding.

  • After a couple of weeks after my operation I need to go back to the doctor for a follow up.

  • When I was at the dentist once, the drill tool cut the inside of my cheek, I was bleeding a lot but the dentist stitched it quickly.
